Almasi is right on the beach in Nyali, just off Baobab Road. Walk out of the compound and your feet are in the sand. Or stay by the infinity pool and look out at the ocean for the afternoon. The apartments are roomy, with sea-view terraces, air conditioning, a full kitchen, free Wi-Fi and free parking inside the secure gates.
Mornings by the ocean
Start the day with coffee on the terrace, watching the ocean and the odd fishing boat heading out. When you’re ready, the beach is just downstairs. Get there early, before the sand heats up. Almasi is a gated complex on Baobab Road in Nyali, modern in style, with Swahili details in the arches and finishes.
Space to spread out
There are two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, and some of the bigger ones come with a staff quarter, handy if you’re bringing a nanny or househelp. Many units have three bathrooms, so there’s a walk-in shower for rinsing off after the beach and a proper tub for a long soak later. Cook together in the fully equipped kitchen and eat around the dining table. Then stretch out in the lounge and stream something on the flat-screen TV. When the afternoon heat sets in, the air conditioning keeps the bedrooms cool enough for a nap.
Afternoons at the pool
Most days end up at the infinity pool, where the water seems to run straight into the sea. The kids can wear themselves out on the playground and in the garden, and the picnic area is a shady spot for a long lunch. If you like to keep active, there’s a gym on site. There’s also the beach, of course, and it’s at its best for a walk as the sun goes down.

The place is Superb, awesome, beautiful i just don’t have enough words to rank this beautiful place
Almasi Apartments have given me the best experience ever. I always feel at home away from home in the apartments. With it’s beautiful ocean view I always enjoy the cool breeze. Almasi’s leafy environment makes it exceptionally serene. The exquisitely furnished and well ventilated apartments have a very spacious sitting room, bedrooms, dining room and kitchen with enough space for laundry.
A great place to holiday..the beach is right at the doorstep.. secure, cool comfy ambience and polite staff.
What an experience!
I enjoyed my stay here. The place is clean, secure and the people around were very helpful… I must admit I was a bit scared when I read negative reviews here right before I checked in but let me just say the owners must have worked on the negatives that had been pointed out here and improved immensely. I stayed at S1 with my kids and we had fun. and many thanks to Stanley, Rose and Jacky. Till then adios !
City Mall is a few minutes away when you need groceries, a good coffee or a movie on a hot afternoon. Haller Park is under a kilometre down the road. Take the kids to feed the giraffes and watch the hippos in the ponds, and you’ll be back in time for lunch. If you play golf, Nyali Golf Club is a short drive away.
Moi International Airport is about 18 km from Almasi. Ask your host to arrange a pickup, and someone will be waiting when you land.
With kids, spend a day at Wild Waters, where they can go down the slides and splash around in the pools until they’re worn out. Old Town and Fort Jesus are about 20 minutes away. Wander the narrow streets, stop for a cup of Swahili coffee, and head back to the pool before dinner.
